Joshua Bennett listens to his mother, Peggy, read him a book on the back deck before dinner. Peggy started a journal when Joshua crashed his car and wound up in the hospital. As he lay in a coma, his friends and family all wrote things they never had the courage to say when he was awake. Joshua, who is now brain damaged, is cared for by his family at home.
