Deacon places a roll of paper towels in Theresas's basket during a shopping trip to Roses. Theresa was having some probles communicating what exactly she wanted Deacon to do. After a dog is placed trainers from Carolina Canine continue to work with the dog and owner to make sure the proper commands are being used. Deacon is a Lab, Great Dane mix from Carolina Canines and was turned over to Theresa (CQ) in October. The dog has been trained to do things for Theresa that are difficult to do for herself since she is missing both of her arms as well as having has trouble getting around due to arthritis in her knees and feet. Deacon has given Theresa independence she didn't have before she got him, he has been trained to help dress Theresa as well as many basic tasks which many take for granted.
