Theresa removes a bus ticket with her toes as Deacon looks down Front Street for the public bus. Deacon is a Lab, Great Dane mix from Carolina Canines and was turned over to Theresa (CQ) in October. The dog has been trained to do things for Theresa that are difficult to do for herself since she is missing both of her arms as well as having has trouble getting around due to arthritis in her knees and feet. Deacon has given Theresa independence she didn't have before she got him, he has been trained to help dress Theresa as well as many basic tasks which many take for granted.
