Robert Gately (CQ) of Wilmington collects his thoughts after his 2000 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck rolled over in the 300 block of Porters Neck Road at approx. 7:20 AM Friday. Mr. Gately was t-boned by a vehicle driven by Michelle Veen (CQ) of Wilmington, as Ms. Veen pulled out of a driveway on the roadway. Ms. Veen was cited for failure to yield while entering the roadway. Mr. Gately said he did all he could to prevent his truck from crossing over into the opposite lane as oncoming traffic approached. The rear axel of his vehicle was broken as it was struck by the initial impact. Ms. Veen was treated and released from Cape Fear Hospital .
