A girl plays unattended in La Carpio, a community just outside of San Jose, Costa Rica. The community is comprised of primarily Nicaraguan settlers in search of a better way of life. La Carpio is a community rife with poverty and violence and is considered by many one of the most dangerous communities in Costa Rica.
