1st Spot News Patrick Schneider, Charlotte Observer 06/03/03: Charlotte fire fighters check the disel fuel containment efforts inside the remains of small fuel tuck that crashed through the Westbound Interstate 277 gaurdrails and fell 50-feet onto 10th Street, Tuesday afternoon June 3, 2003. The truck from the Ferebee Corporation was carring 950-gallons of disel fuel that emptied into the strom drain and then into Little Sugar Creek. The fire department hazardous materials team and the EPA workers worked to contain and recover the fuel as it flowed down the creek. The driver was transported to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. |
