Patricia Bowen lives at home with her mother, Pauline Jones, in the southside of Wilmington. Psychiatric problems have left Bowen unable to work for many years and yet she is still waiting for Social Security disability. She spends most of her day on her couch and says she rarely ventures out of the house.
