Under the light of two kerosene Iraqi lamps, Spc. Walter Miscles, C co. 3rd Battalion 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, writes a letter home to his girlfriend Brenda Garcia in an abandoned Iraqi school on the outskirts of As Samawah Thursday night. Miscles was taking a few minutes to write home to his girlfriend. All over the walls were murals and drawings of Saddam Hussein.
