04/19/03: Smoke spiraling from the starters pistols hangs heavy in the air after overnight rains saturated the air and soaked the ground before the Chic-Fil-A Invitational track meet. The 2003 Chic-Fil-A Invitational got off despite early rains, a persistent mist and cool weather as more than 500 high school athletes from across North and South Carolina competed fro bragging rights over two states. Foul weather not withstanding the high schoolers demonstrated strength, speed, grace and determination.
