Seaman Apprentice John Fleming (CQ)pauses to get a glimpse of the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center (CQ), as he takes shore readings off the Manhatten skyline with an alidade (CQ) from the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Diligence (CQ) while on patrol of the New York City Harbor (CQ). The cutter Diligence and it's 77 member crew have been on patrol since Sept. 12 (CQ) after being deployed due to the terrorist attacks.
