With his surf kite in tow, Andy Garno (cq) of Brunswick County (cq) wades out into First Bay in the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area (cq) Tuesday afternoon. Garno appears to walk on water as the bay stays very shallow near show, even at high tide. The basin has gradually filled in since hurricanes closed Corn Cake Inlet (cq), making it a haven for wildlife and recreation.
