09/11/02: 8:06am...A.L.Brown sophmore, Willie Graham, a petty officer 2 in the school's Naval Junior ROTC waits to raise the colors prior to a ceremony commemorating Spt. 11, 2001 at the school. Students and staff at A.L.Brown High School, in Kannapolis, gathered around the flagpole to mark the anniversary of the terrorists attacks one year ago on Spetember 11, 2001. The school's naval Junior ROTC unit presented the colors plus flags from each state in the union, played taps and performed a 21-gun salute. The Naval Junior ROTCF unit began preparations at just after 8am for the 8:30am school-wide ceremony.
