09/26/01: Charlotte Firefighter Rich Bellina, from Engine 20, reclined in a room in a Monroe Road tattoo parlor, holding his left arm steady for the artist who was etching a scene much like those that have haunted Americans for weeks. There was a lone firefighter, wading through the rubble of the World Trade Center, raising a flag, Iwo-Jima style. The whole process took over three hours to complete.
