9/04/01: Steven McKinney (CQ), 41, holds a photo of himself (left) and friend Justin Braswell (CQ, big cowboy hat), sitting in the Silver Express convenience store, one of Braswell's favorite places to hang out. Justin, a 19-year-old mentally disabled Kings Mountain man who was shot, killed and robbed of about $20 dollars Saturday night as he walked home from a free concert in that city. "He never went anywhere without his hat," McKinney said. The hat Braswell wore to the concert Saturday night was found about 200 yards away from where he was found on East Ridge Street in Kings Mountain. Braswell was shot once in the back with a small caliber handgun.
