03/27/01: Katie Carter, 11, is one of two Special Olympians who recently won medals at the World winter Games in Alaska. Katie won a level four gold medal for figure skating. She's been skating for five years at the Ice Capades Chalet in Eastland Mall (where she was in this photo). When asked what her favorite part of skating is katie answered, "Everybody thinks I look like Tara Lapinski."
