4/24/01 Carolina Panthers first round draft pick and 11th player selected in the NFL draft, Dan Morgan crouches atop the hill he runs to stay in shape near his home in Coral Springs, Fl. Tuesday morning. Morgan, a linebacker played at the University of Miami is the first player to sweep the major defensive awards--Dick Butkus, Bednarik and Bronco Nagurski--in a single season. The Carolina Panthers have never invested such a high pick on a defensive player. At 240 pounds, he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and says he can bench-press 425 pounds.
