Tim Pace of Carolina Beach rockets off a wave Wednesday morning at the North end of Carolina Beach. Area surfers made their way out to local beaches as heavy surf pounded the area Wednesday. Due to the dangerous swells a forty-five foot fishing boat was lost 20 miles off the mouth of the Cape Fear River. One crew member was found dead two were rescued by the U. S. Coast Guard while another remains missing.
