View Past POYs
The North Carolina Press Photographers Association met for its annual meeting and Pictures of the Year contest in conjunction with the Southern Short Course in News Photography, in Charlotte, on Thursday and Friday February 5 and 6.

NCPPA 2009 POY:
Andrew Craft of the Fayetteville Observer was named Photographer of the Year for the second year in a row, while freelance photographer Logan Mock-Bunting was named Runner-up Photographer of the Year.

NCPPA 2009 Student POY:
University of North Carolina student John Adkisson was named Student Photographer of the Year, while fellow UNC student Courtney Potter took Student Photographer of the Year honors.

Best of Show:
Logan Mock-Bunting was also honored with Best of Show, with his Feature Picture Story entry titled Details In Dying.

Staff of the Year:
The Charlotte Observer was awarded with Staff of the Year after accumulating the most points with wins in the individual categories.

2009 Clip Photographer of the Year:
After accumulating the most points throughout the year, Andrew Craft of the Fayetteville Observer was named the Clip Photographer of the Year for his wins in the monthly clip contest.
